A native of Alabama, Pastor Drew has dedicated his life to serving God and his ministry. He and wife Susan have five children, Meagan, Maleah, Micah and twins Morgan and Meredith. Pastor Drew started out with a background in journalism, working at his local paper at the age of 16, later as a sports writer at the University of Alabama.

He was pastor for 14 years at First Baptist Churchin Shelbyville but resigned and took a year off, away from full-time vocational ministry. During that year, many people were praying that he would come back and start a new church.

On Sept.12th, 2004 those prayers were answered when The Peoples Church held their first service. That servicewas held at the Chamber of Commerce with 75 people attending. In less than six months, the attendance has more than tripled ... with almost 600 persons attending at least once.

The PeoplesChurch and Pastor Hayes are focused on reaching the needs of the community and providingministries and services that impact every area of life. There is a new generation rising at The Peoples Church, a generation without limits. Pastor Drew is a proven leader for this generation, a generation that believesall things are possible!!!
